Stylish cake stand
Nothing beats serving a traditional afternoon tea, with dainty cakes and scones, on a stylish tiered cake stand.
This classic two tier cake stand is decorated with a striking black and white floral design – in fact, the Brocade design comes from the V&A archives.
The cake stand is made from fine bone china and has a gold-coloured spindle, with a handle on top, running through the centre.
The V&A brocade cake stand is sold by John Lewis and costs £25.

Sometimes it’s the simplest of home accessories that you need, but don’t have.
For all your door propping needs, this acorn design oak door stop, or door wedge, will do the job perfectly, whilst looking decorative too.
The door stop is made in England from solid timber by Creamore Mill and is available for £8 from the V&A shop.
