Cute kitchen timer
Designer Lisa Stickley has created a great new range of homeware products exclusively for Debenhams. We couldn’t help but spy this unusual kitchen timer which is in the shape of a cute little house.
The pink timer has windows and a fence running around the bottom, with birds and flowers, and the numbers for the timer are on the edge of the decorated roof. To use the timer, you simply twist the house around to the desired time and wait for it to count down the minutes.
If you’re bored with plain and simple kitchen timers, then this is a fun piece to add to your kitchen. The pink house timer by Lisa Stickley is a little bit more expensive than ordinary kitchen timers, at £12 from Debenhams, but it’s worth it for such an unusual, yet practical, designer kitchen accessory.

Kitchen trivet
Putting hot plates and bakeware straight from the oven onto your kitchen worktops or table can cause all sorts of problems. If you want to keep your kitchen looking good, then you need to have something that can withstand heat. That’s where a trivet or hot plate stand comes into play.
This shiny fish design hot plate stand is made from aluminum and fits perfectly with the nautical trend, that’s popular in home interiors.
What’s more, the trivet is very reasonably priced at only £11.95. Buy yours from By the Sea on Not On The High Street.

Perfectly mismatched
I’m all for a bit of mis-matching with home accessories (it’s can be far more interesting) and this is the perfect way of getting a wonderfully random set of cutlery.
Aptly called the Eclectic Cutlery Set, the 16 piece set contains four knives, four forks, four dessert spoons and four tea spoons. The design styles of the cutlery live up to the eclectic claim, with a range of pretty florals, traditional gingham designs, antique styles and even modern. It would be the perfect accompaniment to coloured or plain white tableware.
To get the eclectic cutlery set on your table, head over to The Contemporary Home.

Who's sitting where?
When you’re having a dinner party, tea party or special meal, it’s nice to lay the table properly and mark out details of who should sit at each place.
Placecards can be propped up in the appropriate spot, but one way of doing it in style is to use placecard holders.
This set of pretty little placecard holders are in the shape of mini chairs. They’re made from pewter and come in a set of four different chair styles. Find them for sale at Patchwork Harmony.

Once a bottle...now a dish
We love finding good examples of recycled homewares and this is one of them.
Once upon a time, this was a wine bottle, but thanks to the power of recycling, it’s been transformed into a glass serving dish.
The character of the wine bottle remains – it doesn’t take long to spot what it was in its past life – but it’s now perfect for serving small nibbles, such as olive, tapas or nuts.
The recycled wine bottle serving dish is sold by EcoOutlet.

It looks like a milk carton, but it’s actually ceramic.
This realistically designed ceramic milk carton works jolly well as a milk jug and is a quirky accessory to have in your kitchen.
It’s made from cream glazed ceramic and has blue or green handpainted lettering on it.
Buy it from Sorbet Living on Not On The High Street.

Make your own lollies
I know it’s not exactly the perfect weather for eating ice cold ice lollies, but by the time the sun has arrived, you can guarantee you’ll not be able to find a decent lolly mould when you want it!
This is not just any old lolly mould though – it’s a blue melamine butterfly design lolly mould.
The set of four, in pale blue, is available from Laura Ashley, where it’s priced at £2.94.
