Fish design kitchen trivet from Not on The High Street

Kitchen trivet

Putting hot plates and bakeware straight from the oven onto your kitchen worktops or table can cause all sorts of problems. If you want to keep your kitchen looking good, then you need to have something that can withstand heat. That’s where a trivet or hot plate stand comes into play.

This shiny fish design hot plate stand is made from aluminum and fits perfectly with the nautical trend, that’s popular in home interiors.

What’s more, the trivet is very reasonably priced at only £11.95. Buy yours from By the Sea on Not On The High Street.

Get knotted: Nautical knot doorstop

Friday, June 25th, 2010
Embrace the nautical trend with stylish home accessories

Nautical doorstop

The nautical and coastal trends are alive and kicking in homeware products at the moment, but if you’re not keen on some of the blue and white accessories, but do want a touch of nautical in your home, then this fabulous doorstop is perfect.

Produced in the form of a large knot, the chunky doorstop is made from heavy fishing rope. It has a large loop at the top, which makes it easy to move around and position it where you’d like it. It works well as a doorstop, but would look great in a corner for decorative purposes too.

The knot doorstop was originally £38, but it’s currently reduced to £29 in the Plumo sale.

One of the current trends in UK home accessories is the Union Jack. It’s been used in all sorts of products, including cushions, mugs, tea towels and art.

Too much of it in your house can look thoroughly over done, but the odd piece dotted around does look good. These Union Jack products are all created by British designers, Pearl and Earl.

The Union Jack Blossom tea towel is £6, the laundry bag is £16 and the Union Jack Blossom mug is £8.

They’re all available from Pearl and Earl, along with lots of other unique British products, including their iconic camper van range.
