Fifty years ago most kitchens had an accessory like this Tala 1960 Cook’s dry measure.
But then in their perceived wisdom they were replaced by modern gadgets which have never been quite as good. Thankfully, the good old accessories have come back into fashion, and you can now get your hands on a Tala measuring cup again.
The blue exterior is retro in style and the interior has measurements for many commonly used ingredients. John Lewis sells the Tala measuring cup for £8.

Dear Tala Friend,
I am very pleased to see you have a Tala Retro Cook’s Dry Measure.
The Tala catalogues rang from the 1920’s up until today, contain products which are still made in the same way – lovely, English manufacturing. Traditional methods are used to manufacture most of the Tala products. Many of the iconic pieces such as the cooks measure come from the Tala factory in Liverpool and are still manufactured using the same methods since the 1920's, handmade by a small team of skilled craftsmen.
Thank you for sharing this image and I hope you share your baking stories. Please keep in contact with Tala via the website, Facebook page or Twitter.
Yours,
Ms. Taylor
