The Two Red Trees website was set up by artist Anna Ward and specialises in selling ‘the best of British craft markets’.
Many of the items sold on the site are handmade products made by recent British graduates and talented artisans from the UK. As well as including homeware, the site has gifts for men, women and children, and you can be sure to find some unusual, stylish and unique products available. Unlike many other sites, delivery is free in the UK.
As part of our Shop Showcase series, we’ve put together our top ten favourite homeware product picks from Two Red Trees.
1. Haris Tweed tea cosy
The drinking of tea has become, well, almost a fashion. The rise in coffee shops has been followed by an increase in tea drinking, with people being more experimental in their choice of tea. With tea comes teapots and tea cosies. Two Red Trees sell this stunning range of Harris Tweed tea cosies in an assortment of colours, all padded and lined in matching cotton. Harris Tweed is a hard wearing material and the tea cosies should last for years. The price is £28.
2. Liquorice Allsorts vintage style single oven glove
Two Red Trees have a liquorice allsorts range. We love this liquorice allsorts vintage single oven glove. Made from 100% cotton the glove has a liquorice allsorts pattern with a pink trim. The glove costs £13.50 and is part of a range consisting of aprons, tea cosies and a double oven glove.
3. Handpainted set of four coffee cups
Stacking mugs are great if you don’t have much room. But this isn’t why most people buy this set of four hand painted coffee cups. El Guapo is hand drawn using specific on-glaze ink. The set, costing £43.50, stacks together to make a Mexican bear.
4. Paper lampshade – mixed medley
Music lovers may appreciate this music paper lampshade, made from music from vintage music books, and costing £53. You can see some of the words from the love songs. The lampshade looks equally good lit or unlit, and is sturdily made with the paper circles applied to a paper shade with wire insert.
5. Hand embroidered dog design with flowers cushion
This hand embroidered dog design with flowers cushion is a sausage dog cushion in a sausage dog shape. The cushion itself is plain, cream at the front, red at the back. On the front is an embroidered picture of a dog. The cushion is 38cm by 19cm and Two Red Treees sells it for £24.
6. Illustrated handmade flying owl lamp
Made from parchment paper this illustrated handmade flying owl lamp creates a simple glow when lit. The design consists of a simple tree drawing with an owl flying on what looks like a blue moon. The price of the lamp is £54.
7. Turned natural edge yew candle holder
This turned natural edge yew candle holder is gorgeous. For £18 you get this yew candleholder finished with beeswax, with felt feet on the bottom. A tealight candle fits neatly in the centre.
8. Noah’s ark table lamp
We have included another table lamp on the list. This one is for a children’s room and is a Noah’s ark table lamp costing £60. The shade is made from cotton and is lined with PVC. It would look beautiful in any children’s bedroom.
9. Badger glass coaster set in gold and silver
There are two coasters in this set of badger glass coasters in gold and silver. The badger is engraved in gold, on a silver background. They are backed in black felt and come in a presentation box. The photograph doesn’t quite do them justice as when you sit the coasters down you get an almost mirror effect. The cost is £22 for a set of two.
10. Hand printed reversible hedgehog family bolster excluder
This hand printed reversible hedgehog family bolster excluder is 38″ by 10″ and costs £50. Mum and baby hedgehogs walk along. The great thing about it is that if you have no need for a draft excluder or don’t use them you can still buy the bolster and use it in your living room or bedroom.
