Calling all soft furnishing fans! Cushions are one of those essential home accessories and something that can easily be updated to reflect a change of colour scheme or taste. If you love the colour blue, then here are 10 of our favourite blue cushions for use in your living room, bedroom or favourite comfy chair.
First on the list is this is Heal’s Dupppion silk blue cushion costing between £22 and £30 depending on the size. The striking blue colour is very eye catching. It is one of a range of silk cushions on sale from Heal’s.
This dotty cushion cover is available in different colours. We love the blue one. Dunelm Mills sell the cushion cover for £4.99.
Talara is a cushion cover retailer with a good selection of styles and colours. One of our favourites is this Peony duck egg cushion cover, part of the Catherine Lansfield Home range. Ornamental, embroidered peonies trail create a beautifully serene look. This is more a bedroom cushion than a living room one, and it looks gorgeous here in the picture sitting against the blue bed cover. The price of the cushion cover is £10.
The Kimberley Dawn website has three pages of blue cushion covers. With so many to choose from it is hard to pick a favourite, so we have chosen two. The first is this Swan Lake Vintage Wool Needs Tapestry cushion cover costing £34. It is decorated with a vintage needlepoint scene of swans on a lake in vibrant greens and blues with autumn highlights of orange and gold. The woolen design sits on a white linen background with a zip along the lower edge.
Another favourite from the Kimberley Dawn website is this Blue Titley and Marr Chinoiserie Scene Yangtze Cushion. The stylish chinoiserie design originally dates from the 19th century and the scenes are in green, red, rose, brown, aubergine, straw and cream on a blue background. The price of the cushion is £24.
This Black Watch tartan cushion cover costs £8 from Design a Cushion. The gorgeous cushion is the same on both sides.
Denim’s image has changed in recent years. This Zennor denim blue cushion is definitely a bedroom cushion. There are six decorative buttons on each cushion, three on each side. Pure Living sell the cushions for £16 each.
This butterfly purple cushion isn’t strictly blue, but the striking butterfly design is a blue-purple colour which dominates the cover. The fabulous Pop Art style cushion cover is made from a faux moleskin material. The beautiful grey background helps emphasise the butterfly design. At the moment the Yorkshire Linen Company is selling the cushion cover for £6.99, reduced from £14.99.
Crafty Jungle is a site which is worth a visit. It started in Birmingham in 1991 and its website sells candles, incense, scented oils and other gifts. While not being overly unusual, there is something slightly different about this luxury rosette silky cushion cover. At £5.75 it is a great price for a silky cushion.
This contemporary soft and silky navy blue cushion cover is a great choice for jazzing up a plain room or a plain sofa. PCJ Supplies sell it for £4.46.
