Feather & Black started off in 2004, selling matresses and mainly bedroom furniture and accessories. It has expanded its range since then and we have been impressed with their home accessories. As part of our Shop Showcase series, here are 10 of our favourites.
1. Antique brass trinket dish
This beautiful little antique brass trinket dish is perfect for putting your jewellery in at the end of the night. The length is 13cm and the cost is £16. If you’re the kind of person who is exhausted at the end of the night and struggles to have the energy to put things back in their proper place, then this would be perfect.
2. Lilac square base hurricane lamp
Appearances can be deceiving at first. If you take a quick glance at this lilac square base hurrican lamp you might think this looks like an electric lamp. It is in fact a vase with room for a large candle inside. The price of this classic looking vase is £65.
3. Cream embossed water jug
We do love water jugs – whether it is for the bathroom or for the kitchen or dining room. This cream embossed water jug has beautiful detail on the side and is both practical and decorative. 4. Aubel ceramic perfume bottle
Another beauty is this aubel ceramic perfume. Yes we know most people buy designer perfume nowadays, but isn’t this perfume bottle just one of the most beautiful things you could have sitting in your bathroom? For £15 you get this beautiful white vintage perfume bottle which will sit neatly on a shelf.
5. Gold round patterned plate
There is something hypnotic about this gold round patterned plate. The floral patterned design is fascinating looking and very detailed. This is a beautiful looking plate which you could have as an ornament or perhaps to be kept for serving food on special occasions. It’s £28.
6. Set of three forest scent cushions
At the moment this set of three forest scent cushions is reduced to £4 from £8. The neat little cushions are all in pastel colours. You could put them in with yout clothes in a drawer or sit them on a shelf.
7. Vintage mirrored tray
Having a tray which also acts as a mirror is an interesting concept. And why shouldn’t our accessories have multiple uses? Shabby chic in style, the vintage mirrored tray has handles at the side and a mirrored top. Feather & Black sells it for £16.
8. Silver porthole clock
We love this silver porthole clock costing £48. It is larger than life and full of character. It is 17cm tall, and would look good both in the bedroom or in the living room.
9. Ceramic toothbrush holder
This is a classic ceramic toothbrush holder from Feather & Black. It holds four toothbrushes. The white is very striking as is the writing on the front. The cost is £8.
10. Nickel finish hurricane lantern
This lantern is fantastic looking and looks really authentic. Inside the lantern sits a large candle. The handle allows you to carry it around as our ancestors would have done with a real lantern. The nickel finish lantern is on sale for £35.
