The home page of the Mocha website is appealing in that it immediately introduces you to some of their bright mugs, as well as some of their other innovative looking products. Innovation is very much what Mocha is about, so we’ve gathered together 10 of our favourite quirky home accessories from the range at Mocha.
These arrow bookends caught our attention first of all. Glancing at the picture you immediately wonder what keeps the red arrows up as they appear to be floating. The secret is a metal holder hidden in the last book cover – to which the magnetic arrow is drawn. The cost is £22.99, for what is a great idea for an unusual gift.
We couldn’t resist incluing this comical Mr T Roll Holder for the bathroom. For £18.99 you get a red or blue Mr T holding up the toilet rolls. This is a free standing toilet roll holder and adds a bit of humour to the bathroom.
We are moving in to winter and the perfect time for using this domino tea light holder at dinner parties. The holder comes in a choice of black or white. We prefer the black as it contrasts with the white candles. The metal tea light holder is made to look like a domino, and would look perfect as a centrepiece for a dinner party. The price is £22.99.
Always on the lookout for good eco friendly products we were interested to see this solar clock on the Mocha website. It is rather unusual and modern looking, shaped like a radio with white hands which stick out. Or you can choose the shorter hands – both are supplied. The clock comes with rechargeable batteries which are charged by the solar panel on its front, and it can take power from natural or artificial light. The clock can be wall mounted or kept free standing as a desktop clock. At the moment the clock is reduced to £18.99.
Here is one for those of us who are always misplacing our keys. Key Pete key holder will attach himself to any metal surface, using the other hand to hold up to twenty keys.
Lenny holds on to your memos for you, and is big enough that you are not likely to mislay him like you would a piece of paper on its own. Priced at £9.95, Lenny the camel holds the papers in his mouth, and also comes fully loaded with 140 white paper notes.
At first glance it looks as if this paperwork recycled storage basket is made from pencils, but it is in fact made using rolls from recycled magazines. It certainly makes for a colourful basket. The price of the basket is £27.99.
This is a floating shelf with a difference. It is also a ruler. Handmade in plywood the shelf has ruler markings on it, perfect if you can never find a ruler. The shelf costs £9.99.
The bookrest lamp is a night lamp made of frosted glass, with a soft light for reading and a top shaped for putting your book on when you go to sleep at night. Once the book is on top it looks like a house with a roof. Mocha sell it for £39.99.
This Cuban car lampshade is one of the most unusual we have ever seen. The design comes from an original painting which the British artist Jacqueline Hammond painted in Cuba. The lampshade, priced at £69.99, is a real statement piece.
