Designer Issey Miyake and home brand company Iittala have joined forces to collaborate on a new homeware collection.
The Iittala X Issey Miyake collection features top quality ceramics, glass and home textiles. Each piece reflects the blend of Japanese design and Finnish minimalism to a tee and the products are all sleek, stylish and design conscious.
The chosen colour palette is soothing, with its rose pink (reminiscent of Pantone’s Rose Quartz shade, which is one of the colours of the year for 2016), fresh green and classic black and white. In fact, the colour scheme is said to represent, “the awakening of Spring and the blossoming of flowers.”
It’s interesting to see how the products feature classic design trademarks associated with each brand. For example, the textiles incorporate pleats and folding techniques, which Issey Miyake has used in his clothes designs since the 80s.
There are currently 30 items in total in the collection. Check them out on the Pause for Harmony website.
