Stools are one of many home accessories that come in very useful in the home. Whether it is for sitting on, standing on or for resting your feet after a hard day at work, here are 10 stylish and practical stools.
We start with this teak root stool from Wooden Stools. This is a fascinating design. It is made from solid reclaimed teak wood with the top finely polished and coated in beewax. Because they are handmade each one is unique, at a cost of £199. This really is a beautiful piece of furniture.
Here we have probably the most bizarre looking stool on out list – the teacup stool. The giant teacup, which is inspired by the Alice in Wonderland story, comes in a choice of several colours – white, navy, orange, red or yellow. Mocha sells the stools for £139.99 each.
Stefano Giovannoni is the designer of the Magis – special bombo, very modern in its design, and with an adjustable height. This is really one for the kitchen, but you could also use it in a dining room or office. There is a choice of three colours – white, red, or black. It costs £599 from Scossa.
The cottage stool from Sofa Classics is more of a foot stool than for sitting on. The stool is covered in photo embossed leather with faux emerald stone surround – rather a traditional design. At the moment it is selling for £742.
Another beautiful footstool is this Marlow upholstered foot stool with Queen Anne legs. There is a choice of fabrics and wooden leg finishes. Just Ottomans sell it for £89.10.
The Nest website brings us this rather unusual GAN Aram stool. It really is one you need to take a second look at – the design is quite unique. It comes in white taupe or green and also in two different sizes – low or high. The cost is £160 for the low stool and £171 for the high one.
For extra storage the Tailor Storage is great. A living room stool, it is upholstered in 100% polyester fabric and has a lift off lid. Next sells the stool for £99.
Crafty Occasions sells personalised gifts. When children are little they like to have a stool in order to reach up to things, whether that be toys from the shelf, or to reach up to help with the baking. This three legged milking stool can be bought in either solid sycamore, ash or oak, and you choose the font and text which is burnt on to it. A beautiful gift for £44.95.
Like the milking stool, this hand carved wooden parrot stool is an excellent gift for children and one you would keep even when they got much older. It is made monkey pod wood and has been hand carved and coloured in Thailand and finished with a clear wax. It costs £24.99 from Orchard Living.
We love this giant champagne cork stool costing £124.99 from Drink Stuff. It is made from 100% Portuguese cork and is one large cork that you can sit on.
