Laying your table for Christmas: 10 best table cloths and runners

Christmas gives us an excuse to really go to town with decorating the table. If, like us, you like to have table linen for the festive season then have a look at some of the choices on sale this year.

1. Holly Christmas table linen set

We begin with this holly Christmas table linen set fom Fruugo. It comes in green or red but we prefer the green as it is different from the typical red which most Christmas table linen tends to be. It is both traditional and classic looking. The set comes in four setting sizes – 4, 6 or 8, and for the price of £89 you get a table cloth, a table runner, napkins and place mats.

2. Cologne & Cotton Christmas table linen

We love this Christmas table linen from Cologne & Cotton. The website describes it as ‘fun and festive’ and we do agree.  The three wise men feature on the table runner with different designs on the napkins. The price for the table runner is £28.

3. Chimes Christmas bells diamond table centre

We have one table centre on the list – this chimes Christmas bells diamond table centre. Part of the Justina Claire Christmas range, the red centrepieces is 16″ by 39.5″ and is sold by In4adig. The price is £19.99.

4. Christmas white and red bell placemats – set of two

Roman at Home sells these Christmas white & red placemats in Christmas colours. Set on a white background there is a bell laser cut design on the edging. The placemats cost £8 for the two and are made of polyester.

5. Joy dining set

The Joy dining set comes in a variety of sizes. So it doesn’t matter how big or small your dining table is they should be able to sell you one to fit. There are also napkins and runners to match. Home Linen sells the set, with prices starting at £10.40 for a pack of four napkins.

6. Let it snow felt runner

The Let it Snow felt runner is part of the Let it Snow range, which includes coasters, placemats and napkin rings. This is a gorgeous red felt runner with snowflake shaped cut outs. The price is £12 from Sterling Furniture.

7. Tartan red and gold tablecloth

The Yorkshire Linen company is a good place to go for tartan linen that doesn’t stand out too much. The tartan red and gold tablecloth features an all over red tartan enhanced with a metallic gold thread, part of their tartan red and gold range which includes place mats and napkins. You will pay £14.99 for the tablecloth.

8. Sugar pine extra long Christmas table runner – ivory and gold by Peggy Wilkins

We have tried to cater for all tastes in this post. This sugar pine extra long Chritmas table runner has an embroidered gold tree on it, with little gems dotted around it, and birds on the branches. The linen table runner is a beautiful ivory colour and costs £12 from So Raise your Glass.

9. Snowy hills placemats

John Lewis brings us these funky looking snowy hills placemats in red and white. The abstract red and white print is quite eye catching. The price for the set of two is £8.

10. Red linen-look tablecloth

This red linen-look tablecloth from Lakeland is very plain in design, with a gold rimmed edging. You could combine it with a jazzy table runner or stick with the plain colours.
