Toasters are often more than just electrical items which sit in the kitchen and toast the bread. They are decorative. We buy them to match our colour schemes, to defrost our bread and often to toast muffins and other foods. Some of us take the view that a simple product means less is likely to go wrong, while others are fond of the novelty of gadgets which perform unusual tasks. Whichever category you fit into, you’ll like this list we’ve compiled of our top ten favourite toasters.

1. Dualit chilli pink toaster

Here is a toaster which stands out. The Dualit 2 slice toaster in chilli pink is very striking looking. Each toaster is handmade and the eject lever is manually operated so that the toast keeps warm until required, which could be very useful. Amazon sells the toaster for £109.99.

2. Rowland Rutland Exprit toaster with bun mode

The Rowland Rutland Exprit 4 slice toaster is a British made toaster which accommodates different sizes of bread, as well as having a bun mode feature – great if you like your toaster to do more than just toast standard bread. The combination of stainlesss steel and green makes the toaster very attractive looking.  Wayfair sells it for £197.72.

Another handmade toaster, it has extra wide 28mm slots, and an energy efficient slot selector whch lets you choose all slots or just two. Additionally an ejector leaver keeps all pieces warm until required. This is a beautiful toaster, which costs £199.95.

4. Russell Hobbs black glass statement toaster

This Russell Hobbs black glass 2 slice toaster is probably the most unusual toaster in our list – sleek and stylish. Extras include a cancel function and a cord storage.
