How to transform a bathroom

How to transform your bathroom with tiles

Is your bathroom in need of an update? It’s amazing what a difference a new colour scheme can make. If you’re thinking of giving your bathroom a makeover, then here’s some fabulous inspiration from home and interiors blogger Cassie Fairy.

Having recently moved house, Cassie wanted to transform the tired old bathroom into something more contemporary – a spa themed bathroom with dark colours and clean lines.

Here’s what the bathroom looked like before:

Her tile choices are bold and striking. She’s used Concept Azul tiles from Tile Trader in rich denim blue with a fabric-like textured print on a glossy, smooth surface to create a swathe of colour which takes centre stage.

Alongside them, and to help the colour pop even more, she used the Concept Blanco tiles, which have a subtle stripe in off-white and dove-grey tones running through each tile.

“The Concept white tiles are 60cm x 20cm in shape, and I was initially intending to tile them in straight lines, but when I tried laying the tiles out in a brick-work pattern on the floor, I was sold,” says Cassie.

Here’s the end result, isn’t it fantastic?

Amazingly, Cassie completed all the tiling and plumbing work herself, without the help of a professional, and has even moved the location of the sink and toilet to the opposite side of the room.

“The effect of the blue and white tiles together is exactly what I was looking for – bold and colourful. The room has been transformed from a grotty bathroom into something really special.”

All the tiles used in the bathroom re-design are available from Tile Trader – www.tiletrader.co.uk – and priced between £1.20 and £1.32 each.
